Today is the Feast of the Assumption of the Blessed Virgin Mary. This feast has a double object: (1) the happy departure of Mary from this life; (2) the assumption of her body into heaven. It is the principal feast of the Blessed Virgin.
If you haven't already done so, go to Mass. Today is a Holy Day of Obligation. We took the whole family earlier today... Gabriel's first visit to Mass post-birth.

The picture you posted looks like it's a real life sculpture. Is that so?
Honestly, I don't know. It looks a bit like some of the sculptures at the Vatican. At the same time, I have also seen art that has perfectly captured the effects of light and shading.
